The Team

Who Are We?

John Silvester -
     John Silvester

The guy who had the original crack pot idea of building a fighting robot and who was in overall charge of the design. He is a Science teacher but only does supply teaching now. He has made robots before. He made a fire fighting robot as a project for his post graduate certificate of Education and the Science Club he organised during his first teaching year made a national prize winning machine which followed a white line. A recent project was a computer controlled three axis drilling machine.

Arthur Eaves -
     Arthur Eaves

The most enthusiastic contributor to our team. Nothing was impossible for this guy. He was the fastest machinist in the county. His many hobbies included diving and skiing. You could not tell that he did not have any legs which he lost in a car accident - except that he sometimes wore shorts! You could not ignore this chap - he was a natural entertainer. He passed away in August 2002 after a routine angiogram showed up a serious problem. The hospital operated straight away but the operation went wrong and Arthur passed away. He is greatly missed by all who knew him.

Andy Stevens -
     Andy

The neatest welder in the county. He will not do anything unless he had drawn it on the computer and treble checked the dimensions. He is a natural kerb to our enthusiasm and will not carry out any of our ideas unless he was certain that it would work.

James Silvester -

James Wright -
     James Wright

Our drivers. They are good friends and have done well in their Science SATS exams. One got 100 percent in one of his exams, the other was offered a place at a prestigious Grammar school. Does not an interest in robots engender an interest in Science, Technology and Mathematics?

Neil Manuel -
